Decision in Namal's case
The Colombo Magistrate's Court has ordered that a complaint filed against Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa and a group of defendants be called up again on January 29th.
The case regarding the investment of Rs. 15 million, which was illegally earned while acting as a Member of Parliament, in a company called N.R. Consultancy was called up before Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga today (07).
The Criminal Investigation Department informed the court that the relevant instructions for the investigation of the said case have not yet been received.
After considering the above facts, the court ordered that the relevant complaint be called up again on January 29th and that reminders be sent regarding the Attorney General's instructions.
When the relevant case was called up, Mr. Namal Rajapaksa and the group of suspects appeared before the court.
