Suspect arrested for aiding and abetting multiple murders

A suspect involved in multiple shootings, murders and attempted murders has been arrested by the Thalangama Police with ice.

Police said that the suspect was arrested in the Thalawathugoda area with 12 grams and 200 milligrams of ice.

Further investigation into the suspect has revealed that the suspect is a person who has close ties with organized criminals currently hiding abroad.

It has also been revealed that the suspect has been charged with attempted murder by shooting in the Modara Police Division, possession of heroin in the Modara and Kollupitiya Police Divisions, and kidnapping a person.

Accordingly, the suspect has been produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court and has been remanded in custody for seven days.

The suspect who was arrested is a 36-year-old resident of Thalawathugoda, police say.

During interrogations conducted under detention orders, information regarding the crimes committed by the suspect has been revealed.

He was the motorcyclist involved in the shooting and murder of a person in the Gampaha area on December 8th last year, and he was also the motorcyclist involved in two attempted shootings and murders in the Gampaha area on March 8th and April 15th this year.

It has been revealed that this suspect was the motorcyclist involved in the attempted shooting and murder of a person in the Weliweriya area on March 13th.

The investigating officers have also recovered a motorcycle with fake number plates, which is suspected to have been used by the suspect for the shooting crimes.

The suspect was remanded until the 21st of this month after being produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court.
