Man arrested with foreign firearm
A suspect has been arrested by the Nagoda Police with a firearm manufactured in a foreign country.
Police said that based on information received by Nagoda Police officers, a suspect was arrested with a firearm manufactured in a foreign country in the Aluththanayamgoda area yesterday (06) afternoon.
The firearm is a semi-automatic firearm that can only fire one bullet in the shape of a pen, and two cartridges for it and five spent cartridges were found in the suspect's possession, the police said.
The suspect who was arrested is a resident of the Mapalagama area, aged about 23 years.
Nagoda Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
