The Jaffna Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau has arrested a suspect for illegally stockpiling and possessing fuel stocks.
Police said that the suspect and the diesel stockpile were arrested during a raid conducted in the Kopai area of Jaffna.
Based on information received by a team of officers of the Jaffna Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau, a suspect was arrested along with 24 barrels containing 4240 liters of diesel, 05 barrels containing 840 liters of petrol and 02 barrels containing 390 liters of kerosene that were illegally stored in a private warehouse complex in the Karandan Road area of Kopai and was presented to the Jaffna Police Station.
Police said that the suspect is a 42-year-old resident of the Thoppukadu area.
Jaffna Police are conducting further investigations.
