A person was killed after being hit by a train

Police say that a person has died after being hit by a train running from Colombo Fort towards Dehiwala near Wellawatta Navy Life Saving Unit.

The police suspect that the deceased is between the ages of 66 and 70 and the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed yet.

The police further said that the deceased person was found to be a beggar in that area.

The body has been deposited in the Kalubowila Hospital mortuary and the Wellawatta Police are conducting further investigations.

வெள்ளவத்தை கடற்படையின் உயிர் காக்கும் பிரிவுக்கு அருகில் கொழும்பு கோட்டையிலிருந்து தெஹிவளை நோக்கி பயணித்த ரயிலில் மோதி ஒருவர் உயிரிழந்துள்ளதாக பொலிஸார் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

உயிரிழந்தவர் 66 முதல் 70 வயதுக்கு இடைப்பட்டவர் என பொலிஸார் சந்தேகம் வெளியிட்டுள்ளனர்.மேலும் உயிரிழந்தவரின் அடையாளம் இதுவரை உறுதிப்படுத்தப்படவில்லை.

உயிரிழந்த நபர் அந்த பகுதியில் பிச்சை எடுப்பவர் என தெரியவந்துள்ளதாக பொலிஸார் மேலும் தெரிவித்தனர்.

சடலம் களுபோவில வைத்தியசாலையின் பிரேத அறையில் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதுடன் வெள்ளவத்தை பொலிஸார் மேலதிக விசாரணைகளை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.
