The owner was killed by the house guard

A person has been murdered in Katugastota, Menikkumbura Adipara area.

The police said that this morning (16) a person was beaten to death with a sharp weapon in Menikkumbura Adipara area.

A 56-year-old resident of Menikkumbura Adipara area has been murdered.

Police say that the victim's wife is abroad and the deceased was alone at home.

Initial police investigations have revealed that the attack was carried out by a guard belonging to a private security service who was deployed to protect the house in question with a sharp weapon.

The person who was attacked died on the spot and the reason for the murder has not been revealed yet.

The 33-year-old suspect, a resident of Peradeniya Murutalawa area, has been arrested in connection with the incident and the sharp weapon used in the attack has also been taken into police custody.

The dead body is under police protection at the place of the incident for the magisterial investigation and further investigations are being carried out by the Katugastota police.

இன்று (16) காலை மெனிக்கும்புர அதிபர பகுதியில் நபர் ஒருவர் கூரிய ஆயுதத்தால் தாக்கப்பட்டு கொல்லப்பட்டுள்ளதாக பொலிஸார் தெரிவித்தனர்.

மெனிக்கும்புர அதிபர பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்த 56 வயதுடைய ஒருவரே இவ்வாறு படுகொலை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

உயிரிழந்தவரின் மனைவி வெளிநாட்டில் இருப்பதாகவும், உயிரிழந்தவர் வீட்டில் தனியாக இருப்பதாகவும் பொலிஸார் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர்.

குறித்த வீட்டின் பாதுகாப்பிற்காக நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த தனியார் பாதுகாப்பு சேவையை சேர்ந்த காவலாளி ஒருவரே கூரிய ஆயுதத்தால் தாக்குதலை நடத்தியுள்ளதாக பொலிஸாரின் ஆரம்பகட்ட விசாரணைகளில் இருந்து தெரியவந்துள்ளது.

தாக்குதலுக்கு இலக்கான நபர் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே உயிரிழந்துள்ளதுடன் கொலைக்கான காரணம் இதுவரையில் வெளியாகவில்லை.

சம்பவம் தொடர்பில் பேராதனை முருதலாவ பிரதேசத்தைச் சேர்ந்த 33 வயதுடைய சந்தேக நபர் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதுடன், தாக்குதலுக்கு பயன்படுத்தப்பட்ட கூரிய ஆயுதமும் பொலிஸாரால் கைப்பற்றப்பட்டுள்ளது.

சடலம் நீதவான் விசாரணைக்காக சம்பவ இடத்தில் பொலிஸ் பாதுகாப்பில் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதுடன், மேலதிக விசாரணைகளை கட்டுகஸ்தோட்டை பொலிஸார் மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.
