It has been observed that this post is being shared as an official communication of the Sri Lanka Police, offering guidance to the public.
The Sri Lanka Police hereby informs that this message has not been issued by the Police to either the media or through any official social media platforms.
Please note that any official announcements by the Sri Lanka Police are disseminated exclusively through the Police Media Division and released to the media under appropriate headings as formal press statements. The Media Division regularly provides verified information and updates to the public via the official Facebook page and YouTube channel of the Sri Lanka Police.
Furthermore, the Sri Lanka Police has initiated necessary to investigate whether the dissemination of such misleading information, appearing to be issued by thePolice is a deliberate and coordinated act by an individual or group.
