Compensation to farmers whose crops were damaged from tomorrow

The first phase of giving compensation to the farmers who suffered crop damage in the yala season is scheduled to be done tomorrow (19).

The insurance board said that it will take steps to distribute 389 million rupees among the farmers.

Accordingly, the compensation for 250 farmers is to be done under the leadership of the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera.

Last year, 65,000 acres were damaged by drought.

It has also been estimated that 11000 acres of paddy fields have been destroyed due to the inability to harvest due to heavy rains.

389 மில்லியன் ரூபாவை விவசாயிகளுக்கு பகிர்ந்தளிக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதாக காப்புறுதி சபை தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

இதன்படி 250 விவசாயிகளுக்கான நட்டஈடு விவசாய அமைச்சர் திரு.மகிந்த அமரவீர தலைமையில் நடைபெற உள்ளது.

கடந்த ஆண்டு 65,000 ஏக்கர் வறட்சியால் சேதமடைந்தது.

அதிக மழை காரணமாக அறுவடை செய்ய முடியாமல் 11000 ஏக்கர் நெற்பயிர்கள் நாசமடைந்துள்ளதாகவும் மதிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
