The strike started by the locomotive shunting drivers at the Colombo Railway Terminal has ended.
A spokesperson of the union said that the strike was ended after a discussion with the authorities. .
It was reported that due to this strike, the trains scheduled to start from the railway yards were disrupted.
However, the Locomotive Operating Engineers Union says that they will start a rail strike tomorrow (12).
It is reported that the union has informed the governing authority regarding the strike.
The union has decided to take this professional action by requesting that the recruitment procedure be revised based on the currently approved Cabinet decisions and that the grade promotions that have been delayed for almost 5 years be promptly given.
